For the past 8 years the RGActive team head out to the picturesque island of Majorca for their annual triathlon training camp. This year was no different with 30 plus new athletes of all abilities spread over 2 weeks, our 8 fabulous coaches were all at their best making sure everyone was working hard. A warm weather, pre-season training camp can be the best way to kick start yourself into the ever looming race season.
I personally don't need any excuse to go somewhere sunny, beautiful and with miles of gorgeous white sand, but for anyone who has never thought about this as a training camp/active holiday it really can be a way to start your fitness regime and enjoy a break all at the same time.
The weather in Majorca is usually lurvely with loads of sunny days that even if you have to wrap up it doesn't seem so terrible. The early morning sea swims, just a walk across the street, always seem to be better once they are finished then before for most. The team then head to breakfast with a spanish style buffet, all you can eat which is pretty special even by my standards. At 9:30am the group will depart the hotel, depending on what the plan is on for the day.
Over the duration of the week there is lots of riding, running, swimming and improving on skills that need improving on i.e..descending mountains, climbing mountains and efficiently managing your strength at the all you can eat buffet!
So if you are ever in turmoil of whether to go on an early season training camp in the lovely sun shine with a group of like minded people and an environment that encourages mental and physical improvement then my suggestion would RGActive Training Camp Majorca would be the place for you!
This blog is a place for me to share what I do with you. It is about my love for racing, family and fashion. It is also about being an older athlete and how I manage to keep my training balanced and, most of the time, injury free. I hope to inspire other ladies, regardless of age, to get up and get healthy...just try it!
